We spend 1/3rd of our life sleeping and a good chunk of that time dreaming. Some people tell me that they don’t dream and I laugh it off because it’s not that they don’t dream, it’s just that they don’t remember their dreams.

SORRY to be harsh but nothing could be worse than not remembering your dreams.

Why do I say that?

Because dreams carry secret coded messages straight from your subconscious mind.

My Experience- raw & unfiltered

Let me share a very personal experience with you

I am a very optimistic person. No matter how borderline annoying my life gets sometimes, I have an unwavering belief that-

All will be well

All will be fine in the long run

I am safe

I am loved

God is with me

Jo hota hai ache ke liye hota hai

Everything is fair in the grand scheme of things

… but…

My dreams are extremely negative. I’m angry, bitter and energetically violent in my dreams. This used to bother me for the longest time because in my waking life I’m the complete opposite. It bothers me if my words hurt someone. I am quick to apologise and genuinely mean my apology too…but then why in my dreams I’m so so negative, bitter and violent?

With all the self work, working with my teachers (healing teachers), other healers, taking multiple courses and spending a lot of time decoding my dreams, I understood that-

Despite of being a positive person, my dreams were negative because my dreams were HELPING ME to be the positive, optimistic person I was and have been so proud of.

Through my dreams, all the negative encounters I go through day to day were getting released so I would wake up my normal happy self. And truly, in my dreams, I’d be this angry woman yelling around…even energetically hitting those who hurt me and I’d wake up feeling sad to be violent but neutral towards the same people I hit in my dreams.

What I understand from this is that my emotions that go unnoticed or unacknowledged or not understood by me are getting resolved in the dream.

Yes, emotional resolution does happen in dreams.

When in waking life we suppress our emotions or forgive people too quickly to avoid fights and conflicts, resolution happens in dreams. These dreams are to be grateful for. That’s it. Our body and mind is always working to help us heal, grow and evolve.

Types of Dreams

From my understanding, dreams are of 3 types-

1>Useless dreams

(where our waking life incomplete thought forms get completed)

2>Emotional release

(where intense emotions come out)

3>Dreams worth decoding

(Secret messeges that we are meant to decode)

Let’s discuss each of these.

1>Useless dreams where our waking life incomplete thought forms get completed

For example- if I am throwing an outdoor party this week and the weather on the day of the party is a concern for me and I start to evaluate my options but it’s a busy day and other things take over my thoughts as a result of which I’m unable to complete my line of thought; in a case like this, that night, I might dream of the day of the party where the weather was good and everyone was happy.

Or

Alternatively, in my dreams, I will be thinking about finding solutions if the weather is too hot on the night of the party.

I’d wake up from this dream thinking -

Gosh I’m obsessed with this party am I not? But no, my mind is just completing an incomplete thought form from my waking life.

Another example- if I think about getting on a call with an old friend who I’ve been thinking about or mentioning in conversations with my husband but I never go ahead and make that call to that old friend, in my dream that night or after a few nights, I will be making that call and catching up with her for 2 hours. I might wake up feeling like this is a sign but (lol), it’s not about the sign…it’s just that I followed through with a waking life thought in my dream!

Should I actually call that friend in reality then after that dream?

… I mean, why not?! … It’s always a good idea to catch up with an old friend :-)

2>Emotional release where intense emotions come out

Understand this from my personal experience above. When we fail to acknowledge our negative feelings about a person or a situation and consciously or unconsciously suppress it, it gets released in the form of a dream.

For example-

If you feel very very jealous of your best friend because she is able to drop weight and look fit within a month of working out but you mask it by saying - “babe, I’m so happy for you” but internally you feel a pang of jelousy and you judge it and suppress it reminding yourself that you should be happy for your loved ones… such a suppressed feeling can show up in your dreams as -

you ridiculing your friend or

you backbitching about her or

you hitting her or

you excluding her.

You might wake up from this dream feeling horrible about yourself but this dream is simply helping you acknowledge what you suprressed.

Another example-

If you meet a potential partner and they reject you after 2 meetings, you might show as if you don’t care and you respect the other person’s choice, etc. You act very nonchalant

and

if it’s truly impacted you, it might show up in a dream to clear off.

You might dream of falling down from stage and feel ashamed/embarrassed. This would mean that that rejection made you feel shame which you didn’t acknowledge so it came up in a dream to clear off from your psyche.

So, what to do then?

Well, nothing! Just acknowledge that it sucks and it’s mortifying to feel rejected, give yourself 2 days - 2 weeks by simply validating your emotion and one morning you’ll wake up laughing about that experience. ;-)

3>Secret messages that we are meant to decode

This is the most complex and layered type of dream where every single element and emotion carries a secret message and meaning. This is what I like to help my clients with. After healing sessions, dreams become vivid and very twisty turny; meaning: they carry

validation of healing,

what’s left unhealed,

etc.

For example-

If my clients dream of being naked and walking around in front of their friends and family after our session, I help them identify the key elements, emotions and meanings.

Every element has a meaning. You seeing a snake in the dream has a meaning,

you hurling abuses and being violent in a dream has a meaning,

you sitting in a roller coaster with your grandparent also has a meaning.

I can give you a couple of generic meanings but it would be ditzy of you and I to use that to decode because a lot of information needs to be gathered before we can successfully decode a dream.

If you are a vivid dreamer, write 2-3 of your dreams and book in a workshop with me where in I will teach you how to decode dreams for yourself and your loved ones too.

Don’t you dare ChatGPT it! Using ChatGPT without learning how to properly decode will leave you feeling more confused and overwhelemd. Dreams are actually pretty easy and straight forward to decode but for the first few weeks of decoding, you need to be patient with yourself.

Allow me to guide you properly.

Some common dream elements and their meanings:

Dogs - loyalty, spontaneous, expressive

(But if the dog is aggressive then threat, danger)

Death of a loved one - this means change not actual death. Death of mother for example can mean death of your motherly nature towards someone you care about (perhaps they hurt you or betrayed you)

Generally death in a dream= change in waking life

but

people are petrified of deaths of loved ones in dreams so they lose the courage to decode it.

Seeing or meeting with famous people in a dream - wish fulfilment or desire digging. Example if I dream of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and to me she means beauty and popularity then either I feel that now in my life or I want to be perceived as beautiful and popular.

Fun fact- all characters and elements in your dream are all about you and your perception. That’s why dream decoding should be done one on one with someone like me (ahem ahem) and then be learnt to do by self.

Dreams of goodbye/farwell - usually a positive sign meaning you’re making peace with someone’s departure

Maze - self discovery. If you see maze or find yourself in a maze in your dream, it means you’re trying to figure yourself out.

Snake -  can be both positive as well as negative meaning in a dream. It depends on your feeling - if you feel scared in a dream, then it represents an intimidating experience in real life else it can also mean wisdom and intuition. Snakes can’t see so they rely on their instinct. Seeing snakes in dreams can also be your subconscious mind telling you to listen to your instincts.

See how these elements can have so many meanings?!

Let’s sit together and figure this out, shall we?

Book a workshop with me and let’s decode your dreams together.
